Need to buy equipment or clothes for a camping trip or simply good winter clothes?

Try these stores:

GENERAL CLOTHES, HARDWARE AND EQUIPMENT:

1. Canadian Tire in Dundas. They sell headlights, rain jackets, rain ponchos, water bottles, socks, hats, gloves, camping utenensils, shoes, water shoes, sandals and many other things. It's not far from McMaster, and you can get there by bike by walking. (Same street as Adventure Attic, see below)

2. Value Village. They sell used clothes, ideal for camping: warm sweaters, pants, rain jackets, rain pants, sometimes shoes. Any kind of cheap clothes you don't need to worry about.
You'll need to take a couple of buses to get there, but the prices are really cheap at Value Village ($5 - $15).

3. Marks Workwear House: Excellent source of good quality clothes, especially warm clothes, gloves, hats, sweaters, pants and boots. Some of these clothes are designed for people working outdoors (construction, etc).
Located across from Limeridge Mall in Hamilton. Take bus #25 from Downtown.

OUTDOOR-SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT, CAMPING CLOTHES ETC.

4. Adventure Attic. They sell real camping equipment: tents, sleeping bags, hiking boots, headlamps, socks, jackets, shoes, etc. It's close to the Canadian Tire in Dundas, and you can get there by bike or on foot. BONUS: As an Outdoor Club member, you get 10% discount at that store. You must bring a proof of membership - like your receipt from the registration desk. DIRECTIONS. (Same street as Canadian Tire see above)

5. Mountain Equipment Co-Op: The Legendary Canadian Outdoor Adventure Store. www.mec.ca  The best store, but unfortunately you'll need a car or take 2 buses to get to it. (Or a 1-hour bike ride.) DIRECTIONS   (same street as Tumblehome)

6. Tumblehome Outdoor Clothes & Equipment. Excellent store that has all the outdoor gear, popular brands and helpful personnel. DIRECTIONS  (Same street as MEC)
