Niagara Falls Trip [Sunday September 8, 2019] - $25
MOC has arranged for buses to the legendary Niagara Falls at which point you are free to hop off and enjoy the legendary Niagara Falls and surrounding city. This trip only provides transportation, no meals are included. You will be responsible for what you want to do/see, but we will be there to give you suggestions!

Welcome Bonfire and Tower Climb [Thursday September 12, 2019] - FREE
A free chance to climb the 52-foot Alpine Tower at the ALTITUDE compound with a fun s’more filled bonfire afterwards! This is our beginning of year welcome meeting where you can find out about trips and events planned for the year. Climbing will begin at 5:00pm and will go until sunset!




Algonquin Provincial Park Canoe Trip [September 28-29, 2019] - $250
Explore Ontario's most famous park, by canoe! We will be departing McMaster University early Saturday morning to head up to the park. We will canoe to our sites on the interior of Algonquin. It is a very easy paddle with some portages thrown in. We will camp overnight in Algonquin, and canoe out the Sunday and head back to McMaster. This trip is beginner friendly and a great way to experience the park, with hopefully fall colours on the trees! NOTE: You will be required to pass a swim test at the MAC pool prior to being able to go on the trip 50m swim (any stroke, face must enter the water) and 1 minute treading water

Hamilton Backpacking [October 5-6, 2019] - $65
Come hike the Bruce Trail in Hamilton this weekend! See some of Hamilton's scenic waterfalls, views, and trails on this introductory backpacking trip. We will be camping overnight in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area. This will be a fun way to explore some of the natural spaces in Hamilton!

Early Thanksgiving Potluck Social [October 10, 2019] - FREE
A fun potluck (please bring some sort of food/meal/snack to share in the event (does not need to be a lot)) to celebrate upcoming thanksgiving. If bringing food is a barrier to you, you are still welcome to come without food. Open to everyone!

The event will start at 6pm and run until around 9pm in room WB113 in DBAC.

Please bring some sort of food/snack to contribute to the potluck. We will hopefully have some fun board games and a movie going as well!




Bruce Peninsula National Park Backpacking [October 16-19, 2019] - $275
Don’t have any reading week plans yet? Then come out and hike the amazing Bruce Peninsula National Park. We will be hiking the entire stretch of the park, along the gorgeous Georgian Bay coastline. Bruce Peninsula National Park is part of a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, which is not an area you want to miss seeing! Don’t miss your chance to visit the Grotto, a large sea cave carved into the limestone shoreline! This will be rated as an intermediate level backpacking

Pumpkin Patch and Farm Tour [October 26, 2019] - $25

What better way to celebrate fall than to pick pumpkins and visit a farm (with GOATSSS) for a BBG lunch and pumpkin carving? (Bring an extra $10 if you would like to purchase a pumpkin.) Bus transportation and BBQ lunch is included in the registration cost.

Halloween Social [October 30, 2019] - FREE ($10 for Pumpkin Carving Competition)
Come out for a Halloween social with snacks a bonfire and a pumpkin carving competition! This will take place in the altitude compound behind the athletic centre. We will have a limited number of pumpkins available for purchase for our competition (a prize to be awarded for best pumpkin). The event is free for everything else!

Whitewater Kayak Pool Sessions [2:30-4:00pm]
Get out in the McMaster pool and try out kayaking! There is plenty of space for beginners and experienced paddlers alike, along with people to help you learn whatever you're working on! See the McMaster Whitewater club page for sign-up!

Sunday Hike Series!!! [FREE, every Sunday*]
Every Sunday we get a group together who wants to explore their local Hamilton! Absolutely free to attend and open to everyone. See the picture attached for specific dates & locations!. 
Meet at the Student Center car loop @10am on Sunday with your bus pass!

Registration

​Registration can be done 2 different ways. 
  1. Online here:
       Look for >Programs>Outdoor.
  2. In person at the DBAC Business Office (the glass room located just inside the front doors). 

Policy

​All trips include a MANDATORY pre-trip meeting to discuss
the route, borrow any gear needed, and to sign waivers.
 
Cancellations and refunds are at the discretion of the club presidents.  In some cases we will be able to provide a full/partial refund based on the reason given and if we can fill your spot. However, please be cognizant of the fact we have bought everything for the trip well in advance so refunds are not always possible.
